Original Label

Yes, it is possible to use as many document classifications as necessary.

Yes, the meta data specified in VDI 2770 can be extended and only represent minimum requirements.

Besides the categories of document (document classification), there are additional important specifications defined: References to subordinate documentations of sub-components, file formats, metadata structure.

Yes, VDI 2770 allows as many additional IDs as necessary in addition to the AutoID according DIN Spec 91406, each with an indication of the reference system (ObjectID and Party). For example the combination of manufacturer and serial number.

The OEM documentation of the equipment (according to guideline VDI 2770) should be available upon delivery of the object and therefore upon handover from OEM to owner/operator.

If at this time valves are supplied with documentation, then in the future this documentation should also be provided in accordance with guideline VDI 2770.

The specification for the classification of documents according to guideline VDI 2770 is sufficiently described in chapter 6 of the guideline (see among others page 12, figure 1). The specification of a document type classification according to DIN EN 61355-1 must be implemented. An assignment overview does not exist for the OEMs.

Unique Label

Equipment can be built up from various other objects (e.g. components, assemblies) (see guideline VDI 2770 chapter 7.1). The hierarchical relationship is described in the guideline on page 19, Figure 2 (Schematic structure of objects).

The VDI 2770 guideline refers to the final documentation of the manufacturer’s delivered objects.

“The documentation of an object must be handed over in the form of a documentation container.” (see guideline VDI 2770, page 31)

If a document is multilingual, then there is only one document container. If there are multiple language versions of a document in the form of standalone documents, then there is one document container for each standalone document.

No, revision identifiers can be assigned individually and do not have to be consistent for all documents.
